Share Your Culture, Participate in the IEW 2016 Contest

Every November, the Department of State sponsors International Education Week (IEW)! This is a week dedicated to giving all exchange students the opportunity to share their culture and traditions from their home country with their host community!

To celebrate IEW, Ayusa holds a special contest for its participating students and urges all students who make a big effort in their IEW participation to compete.

IEW presentations can include a wide range of cultural sharing activities!

Students can:

  • Present about their country to classmates or community members
  • Demonstrate how to make a traditional dish to friends
  • Teach a traditional dance class
  • And so much more!

To participate in Ayusa's IEW contest, students must:

  • Make a presentation and share their culture for International Education Week
  • Complete the Application and Recommendation Form
  • Mail or email these documents to Ayusa by November 25, 2016

We also encourage students to submit photos, newspaper clippings, or anything that would help them stand out from the other participants!
Participating in IEW is not only fun and fulfilling, but also has great rewards for the most dedicated students! The most impactful entry will earn that student a free Belo Tour of an American city!! The second and third prize entries will win a camera.

Entries must be postmarked by November 25, 2016. Please not that IEW participation is mandatory for all Ayusa YES students.

Entries can be emailed to contests@ayusa.org or mailed to Ayusa Headquarters:

Ayusa International
Attn: IEW
600 California St., Floor 10
San Francisco, CA 94108

We are eager for the contest to begin and to see what great thing students will share for IEW! Start planning now - Winners will be announced by mid-December!

If you have any questions, please direct them to contests@ayusa.org.
