Eduardo
's Letter
Hi!
My name is Eduardo and I'm from Brazil. My friends usually call me Taguchi, and I'm totally fine with that! I would describe myself as outgoing, friendly, and easy to get along with. My friends also say I'm funny and sincere. I really enjoy being around people, making friends, and spending time with the people I care about.
I live in a medium-sized city in the state of Sao Paulo, with around 150,000 people. It's not far from the state capital and has plenty of things to do.
My mother passed away when I was five years old, and I now live with my father, Cezar. We have a very good relationship. I also have a stepmother, Amanda, and a stepbrother, Jorge, although they don't live with us. Family is important to me, and I enjoy spending time with them. I also have a dog named Fridda, and I help take care of her.
At home, I have responsibilities like doing the dishes, taking out the trash, keeping my room organized, and taking care of my schoolwork. I think having these responsibilities has helped me become more independent and understand that everyone needs to do their part at home.
I have a pretty active routine. I go to the gym three times a week, and on the other days I usually play soccer. Soccer is a very important part of my life. I've been playing for a long time, and I truly love it. If I have the opportunity, I would love to play for my school during my exchange. I think being part of a team would be an amazing way to improve as a player, make new friends, become involved in the school community, and hopefully contribute to the team.
I attend a large private school, and my favorite subjects are math, physics, and science. I enjoy subjects that challenge me to think and solve problems. I know studying in another country, especially in another language, may be challenging at times, but I'm excited about everything I can learn from the experience.
Outside of school, I'm very social. I love spending time with my friends, playing soccer, going to parks and parties, watching movies, playing video games, and just hanging out. I also enjoy having some time to myself to relax, listen to music, use my phone, or watch a movie.
I enjoy having some independence and being able to stay active, spend time with friends, and explore different places. Because of that, I think I would feel most comfortable in a town or city where there are activities to do and opportunities to meet people. At the same time, I understand that being an exchange student means adapting to a different way of life. I know every family has its own routines and rules, and I'm ready to respect them and become part of my host family's everyday life.
I'm also not a picky eater and enjoy trying different foods. I love hot dogs, hamburgers, Italian and Japanese food, Brazilian barbecue, and, of course, rice and beans. My dad loves to cook, so I guess I could say I eat pretty well! I'm looking forward to trying new foods with my host family too.
I really enjoy movies, especially action and romance. One of my favorite characters is Spider-Man because no matter how difficult things get, he keeps going and doesn't give up. That's something I admire and try to bring into my own life.
I've never lived abroad before, so this exchange will be a completely new experience for me, and that's one of the things that excites me the most. I want to experience a different culture, meet people from different backgrounds, improve my English, and discover what everyday life is like in another country.
I know there will be moments when things feel unfamiliar or don't go the way I expect. I see that as part of the experience. I want to become more mature and independent, learn to adapt to new situations, and step outside my comfort zone.
I also don't want this experience to be only about what I can learn or receive. I hope I can bring something to my host family too. I would love to share Brazilian culture, food, traditions, and stories about my life in Brazil. Most importantly, I hope we can build a real relationship, have fun together, and create great memories.
For me, this exchange is an opportunity to grow, make new friends, experience a new culture, improve my English, and have experiences that I will remember for the rest of my life.
I'm really excited about what's ahead, and I can't wait to meet my host family and start this new chapter of my life!
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me.
Taguchi
