's Letter

Dear My Future Host Family, Hi! My name is Katya, and I am from Russia. I am so excited to tell you a little bit about myself and share one of my biggest dreams with you. For as long as I can remember, I have dreamed of visiting America. In the summer of 2025, that dream finally came true! I had the opportunity to visit Texas with my family, and I absolutely fell in love with it. I loved the atmosphere, the people, the culture, and simply the feeling of being there. After that trip, I found myself dreaming about something even more special not just visiting America, but actually living there, going to an American school, becoming part of an American family, and experiencing everyday life in the United States. At first, this dream seemed almost impossible. I thought it was something that might never happen. But then I discovered an exchange program, and suddenly I had hope that my dream could actually become a reality. That is why I am so excited about this opportunity! I have quite a lot of hobbies, and I always love learning something new. One of my favorite things to do is cooking, especially baking desserts. I love trying new recipes, experimenting with different ingredients, and, of course, sharing what I make with my family and friends. For me, cooking is not just a hobby it is a way of showing people that I care about them. I also play tennis with my school friends. I really enjoy spending time on the court, improving my skills, and having fun together. Another hobby of mine is doing nails. I usually do my own manicure, and sometimes I do it for my friends too. The whole process is very relaxing for me, and I love being creative and trying different designs. I am also learning to play the piano. I am still improving, but I really enjoy the process of learning something new and challenging myself. I have always been very comfortable around children. I have two younger sisters and an older brother, so growing up in a big family has taught me how to be caring, patient, responsible, and understanding. I love spending time with children, playing with them, helping them, and simply being there for them. I have also already had the experience of studying abroad. When I was in 6th grade, my family and I lived in Dubai, where I attended an English-speaking school. It was a very special experience for me, and I really enjoyed studying in an international environment. Although we eventually returned to Russia, that experience made me realize how much I enjoy discovering new cultures, meeting new people, and adapting to a new environment. I would be incredibly happy and grateful to spend an academic year in the United States and become a part of an American family. I don't just want to study in America I want to truly experience it, create wonderful memories, become closer to my host family, learn about your traditions, and share my own culture with you as well. I hope that one day I will be able to call you not just my host family, but my American family. I would be so excited to share everyday moments with you. Cooking together, talking about our days, celebrating holidays, laughing, learning, and creating memories that I will remember for the rest of my life. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my letter and get to know me a little better. I truly hope that we will have the chance to meet and become a part of each other's lives. I can't wait to see where this journey takes me
