Hi future host family, I’m Elisa! Thank you for hosting me for 10 months. I’m really looking forward to getting to know you, and I’m so excited to start this experience. I hope we can build a strong bond that will last a lifetime. Last summer, I spent two weeks in Dublin staying with a host family, and I enjoyed the experience so much that I decided to become an exchange student. I really liked meeting new people, speaking English every day and experiencing life in a different country, and this made me want to have a longer experience abroad. I come from a family of four. My parents are Monica and Daniele. They are 48 and 49 years old. My mum is an office worker and my dad is an engineer. I have a younger brother, Simone. He’s 13 and he plays basketball. We get along very well and like spending time together. I have a very good relationship with my family and I hope I’ll be able to build a meaningful relationship with you too. I’m a cheerful and determined person. My friends say that I’m empathetic, friendly and trustworthy. I love meeting new people and I’m always curious to discover new things. I love playing sports, especially volleyball. I also play tennis in the summer, and I love watching basketball games with my family. We have a favorite team that we always watch on TV. What about you? Do you like playing or watching sports? I really enjoy spending time with other people, so I hope we will do lots of things together! I’d love to discover what you like doing in your free time and maybe try some of your hobbies too. In my free time, I like shopping and hanging out with my friends. I also enjoy watching movies and TV shows. My favorite TV shows are Gossip Girl and the Harry Potter series. Last but not least, I love reading, especially romance and dystopian novels. Do you like reading or watching movies? I cannot wait to learn more about your culture and traditions, and I hope you’ll be interested in getting to know more about mine. I’d be happy to share some Italian traditions with you, especially by cooking some typical Italian dishes! Thank you again for opening your home to me.
