Dear future host family: Hi! My name is Julieta and with this letter I want you to know who I am and present myself a little bit so you can know everything about me. I am fourteen years old, and I live in a small and familiar neighborhood in Madrid. I have a big family: my father, my mother and my two older sibsiblings, they are18 and 16. I don't have any pets but I would love to have a dog or a cat. My school is really close to my house so I can go walking with my friends every morning. I have a lot of hobbies, one of them is dancing. I am really good at it and I like to learn new choreographies. I just started in a dance academy with some friends. I'm very excited about this. Another hobby I have is watching movies. I love to watch movies with my family or friends, especially comedy, action and “romcoms”. My favorite movie is “10 Things I Hate About You”. I also like listening to music a lot, it's something I do every day and I never get tired of. I usually listen to 80’s songs, pop songs, soft reggaeton and sometimes rap. I like listening to different types of music. My favourite singers are Michael Jackson, Luar la L and Justin Bieber. I am a very active person and sportswoman. I play soccer at a soccer club in Madrid. I started playing soccer at 5 years old with my friends in the school recess, and when I was 10 I joined the soccer team of my school. My brother taught me how to play soccer and now I think that I am a really good player. I train twice a week and every weekend I have a match. Apart from being very fun, it also needs dedication and effort. I spend a lot of my free time hanging out with my friends. We usually hang out at a friend's house, or we go to the mall or for a walk around my neighborhood. My family likes to do a lot of things together and we travel a lot. I have been with my family to several countries; I like to see how different the people’s way of life is. I learn a lot when traveling. I went to the US (New York, Philly and Washington) a long time ago, but because I was 5 years old I do not remember much about this trip, I saw the pictures and I love it!. In summer we like to travel around Spain. We go to Malaga, which is a city in the south of Spain, on the coast of the mediterranean sea. We go for sailing and to practice water ski. At the end of August, we move to my grandfather’s house in Galicia, which is a region in the north of Spain, on the Atlantic coast. Summer is my favorite season of the year. In school I am a good student. I always try to get good marks in all the subjects and do my best to pay attention in class. My favourite subjects are Physical Education and English. I am really good at them; I always get outstanding in both. I'm also very creative, I like to make videos and edit them, and I like to write a lot. I should read books more often (my parents insist on this) but I don't like it very much because I get bored very easily. I am sure that when you know more about myself you’ll see I am a person who is very sociable, polite, funny, real, mature, responsible, empathetic and who cares a lot about people. I’m sure you will be happy to meet me and to host me as I am an easy and nice person to live with. I would like to be an exchange student and live with a host family because I think my experience would be more complete. I would like to learn about American culture, the US way of life, to live the experience of studying in a High School and enjoy the typical American celebrations as Halloween and Thanksgiving. Also, I would love to play soccer in the US and live an American Christmas. My sister and brother were both exchange students in Canada and I would like to do the same in the United States. Of course, I want to improve my English so I can understand the language and communicate with everyone in the US better. In summary, what I want is to have the opportunity to experience one year as an exchange student in the US, I know it could be one of the best experience, best regards
