Bertille
's Letter
Dear Host Family,
My name is Bertille, and I am really excited about the possibility of spending a year in the United States with your family.
I think I am a pretty social person. I like meeting new people, spending time with my friends, and trying new things. I can be a little shy at first, but once I get comfortable, I enjoy talking and getting to know people. I am also very close to my family, and spending time with them is important to me.
I live in a family of six and I am the youngest child. I am used to share my life with other people. We are all very close, especially with one of my sisters because we are closer in age.
I also have a great group of friends. I met some of them in my school, and others through activities outside of school. We enjoy spending time together, going out, talking, and just having fun.
One of the main reasons I would like to go to the United States is because it has always been something I wanted to experience. I would love to discover American culture, improve my English, and see what everyday life is really like. I am also excited about attending an American high school because it seems very different from school in France. I would like to join activities and try new things like cheerleading if possible by exemple.
For me, living with a host family is one of the most important parts of the exchange. I think it is the best way to really discover a country because you share daily life, traditions, and special moments together.
In my free time, I do dance wich is a big part of my life since I am four years old, theatre, and scouting wich are also really important to me, it has allowed me to meet a lot of different people with different personnalities and make great memories.
At school, I am not the best student ever but I enjoy learning new things. I am not completely sure what I want to do in the future yet, but I am interested in cinema. I think this exchange year would help me become more confident, and learn more about myself. It would also let me an extra year to think about my life and what i want to do next.
Thank you for taking the time to read my letter. I am very grateful for this opportunity and I hope to meet you soon.
Best wishes,
Bertille
