Emil
's Letter
Dear Host Family,
First of all, thank you so much for reading my letter. It means a lot to me that you are willing to open your home to a student from a foreign country, and I am very grateful that you are considering this. I am already looking forward to this great adventure and I cannot wait to experience daily life together with a wonderful family.
I am a 10th-grade student from Germany. I would describe myself as a calm, helpful, and warm-hearted person who loves being active. In my free time, I really enjoy playing basketball and table tennis, but I am also interested in trying other sports. In general, I like all kinds of ball games and team sports. Furthermore, I am very interested in nature and animals. I love going for hikes, exploring the outdoors, and just enjoying beautiful landscapes. I'm also interested in music. I played the piano for 8 years, and I like everything from pop to classical music.
In my daily life, I am happy to help out when needed. I sometimes help with setting the table or cleaning up around the house. I also really enjoy cooking! I am not a professional chef yet, but I love trying new recipes. I would be happy to cook a simple German meal for you, and maybe we can also cook and learn new things together.
I am a calm person, but I also love spending time with other people. In the evenings, I would enjoy sitting together with you, playing board games, talking, or watching a movie. For my year abroad, my main goal is to become part of a new family and experience your culture firsthand. I want to improve my language skills, make new friends, and learn how people live in your country.
Thank you again for taking the time to read about me. I hope this letter gives you a good idea of
who I am, and I would be incredibly happy to become a part of your family.
Warm regards,
Your future exchange student
