Dear Host Family,
Thank you so much for being willing to participate in the exchange program and considering opening your home to me. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to live with your family and become a part of your daily life.
I am a girl from Chile, and I love trying new things. I am a very open-minded, flexible, and adaptable person who loves to take on new challenges. One of my biggest goals in this program is to fully immerse myself in American culture and work to improve my English skills every single day. I am eager to experience the American lifestyle firsthand, and I am always ready to help out around the house with anything you might need.
Academically, I am a very dedicated student, and I have a great passion for math and science. Outside of school, music it's an important part in my life. I play the flute, and it is something that brings me a lot of joy. And I would love to join a local symphony orchestra or a school music club during my exchange year to share my music and keep growing as a musician.
In addition to music, I also really enjoy cooking. Food is a beautiful way to connect, and I am very proud of my Chilean heritage. I would love to cook some traditional dishes from my country for you, such as empanadas or pastel de choclo, so you can taste a piece of my culture. At the same time, I am very excited to learn how to prepare your favorite traditional American dishes and learn about your family's favorite recipes. I would also love to tell you all about Chile, our traditions, and our beautiful landscapes like the Andes Mountains.
Seeing the wonderful experiences of other exchange students has made me even more determined to embark on this journey. I am sure that we will take amazing photos, share great conversations, and build unforgettable memories together. I am incredibly excited to meet you all and officially become a part of your family.
Warm Regards, Luciana.
