Dear Host family, First of all, I would like to thank you for being ready to open your doors and include someone in your everyday life. My name is Luna, I am 15 years old and I’m a girl from Germany. If I had to describe myself I would say I’m a cheerful, funny, creative, artistic, and hardworking person. My friends would also describe me as smart and open-minded. I enjoy learning new things and trying new experiences, which is one of the reasons why I am so excited about living in another country. In my free time, I like to do many different activities. Music is a big part of my life. I enjoy singing and dancing a lot. I’ve played the piano for about 8 Years and every now and then I play. I also love sports. I play volleyball in a club at my school and I love working out at home. Sometimes I also play tennis with my dad and I would love to deepen this hobby in America. Another hobby of mine is drawing, because it allows me to express my creativity. I am also interested in photography and love capturing special moments and beautiful places. I am also very interested in discovering new cultures, learning languages and traveling. I haven’t been to country’s outside of Europe before but I definitely want to change that and discover the world. During the winter, I enjoy skiing and snowboarding. Last winter I’ve even been on a ski trip to Austria with my school for a week. I’ve shared a lot of beautiful memories there with my friends and I have a real fun story I could tell you when I arrive in the USA. In the United States, I would also love to join school clubs where I can live out my hobbies and interests. Another reasons why I want to attend an American high school is that I am interested in the variety of subjects and opportunities that are not available in Germany. I am excited to experience everyday life in the USA, meet new people, improve my English, and create unforgettable memories with my host family. I live with my parents and my older brother, who is three years older than me. My mother works as a secretary at a music school. My father works as an insurance manager. Through my family, I have learned the importance of kindness, respect, and supporting each other. Family is very important to me. We enjoy spending time together, whether it is having dinner, watching a movie, or going on trips. I also help with household tasks and try to support my family whenever I can. I am looking forward to becoming a part of your family and sharing my culture with you. I would love to cook some of my favorite family recipes for you and hope to get to know some of yours as well since I love to try new food. I also write music and would be happy to play one of my own songs for you. Thank you for taking the time to read my letter.
