's Letter

Dear Host Family, Thank you so much for taking the time to read my letter. I am very excited about the possibility of spending a year in the United States, and I hope this letter helps you get to know me a little better. I would describe myself as a cheerful, open minded, and caring person. I really enjoy spending time with other people and creating memories together. I am someone who gets excited about the little things in life, whether it is a beautiful sunset, a fun conversation, or simply making someone smile. I also love making other people happy through small gestures, compliments, or spending time together. One of my biggest passions is dancing. I have been doing Gardetanz for four years, and it has become a very important part of my life. Besides dancing, I enjoy sports in general and love trying new things. For example, I recently learned how to ski, which was both challenging and really fun. I am always open to new experiences and adventures. Another thing I really love is traveling. I enjoy visiting new places, learning about different cultures, and seeing different parts of the world. I have already traveled to several countries, and every trip has taught me something new. Experiencing new places and meeting new people is something that makes me very happy. Family is very important to me. I have two older siblings who have already moved out, a younger brother, my parents, and our little dog Betty. I spend a lot of time with my family, and every Tuesday I take care of my younger brother. I also babysit regularly. Because of this, I am used to taking responsibility and helping out at home. I am also very lucky to have amazing friends. Some of my favorite memories are simple things like game nights, barbecues, swimming in the summer, camping, or spending time outdoors together. I love being around people and sharing experiences with them. School is an important part of my life as well. I enjoy learning and always try to do my best. My favorite subjects are mathematics, history and social studies, although I enjoy many different subjects. Besides school, I am active in Gardetanz and volleyball, which are both activities that I really enjoy. One of the main reasons I want to come to the United States is because I want to experience everyday life in a different culture. I am excited to learn about American traditions and family life. I also look forward to sharing my own culture and showing you what life in Germany is really like. I am especially excited to experience American high school life. I would love to take different classes, join clubs, activities, or sports teams, and meet new people. I would also love to try cheerleading because it combines many things I enjoy, such as dancing, sports, and teamwork. As for my future, I world like to complete my Abitur after my exchange year. At the moment, I am considering becoming a teacher because I enjoy working with people and helping others learn. I could also imagine becoming an architect or a dentist, so I am still exploring my interests and keeping an open mind. Most of all, I hope this year will be full of new experiences, meaningful friendships, lots of laughter, and unforgettable memories. Thank you for considering me as a future exchange student. I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity and look forward to meeting my future host family. Best wishes, Anna
