Dear future host family, my name is Mia and I am from Germany. I live in a small village one hour with train from a bigger city and I love to go there with my friends. I live with my mom and sometimes I sleep over at my dads. I have two big sisters one is 19 and one is 22 but they don’t live here anymore. Sometimes I drive to them to visit them. A few years ago I had a Hamster but now we don’t have any pets. My grandma has a dog and I grew up with her and when they come to visit I always play with her, so I love the dog like my own even though I don’t see her often. Both of my parents are doctors. Right now I visit the ninth grade and even though sometimes school is exhausting I like going to school. My favorite subjects are English and history but of course I love seeing my friends inside and out of school. In my free time I often read, watch a movie or hang out with my friends. Every Monday I take piano lessons and every Thursday I take dance lessons but I love to try and find new hobby’s and in the past I tried a lot of other hobbies. To that I help at my church with the children and the confirmation class. At home I often have to clean the bathroom or the kitchen but sometimes other things too and I help my mom with the laundry. I wanted to do an exchange year along time ago and I always dreamt about going somewhere outside of Germany and living there for a while. When my oldest sister did a au pair year in the USA and after we visited her I wanted to do an exchange year there too. When I was there it was Halloween and the time fascinated me and I could learn about the culture which woke my interest about this country even more. I especially look forward to the school life and the holidays like thanksgiving, Halloween and Christmas. It would be cool to experience prom and hoco too!
