's Letter

Dear future host family, first of all I would like to thank you for taking the time to read my letter. My name is Louisa and I live in a city in the south of Germany. I´m writing this letter, because I´m really looking forward to becoming part of your family and your life for a little while. About me: I´m the girl who´s never able to find stuff with her name on it here in Europe, because my parents thought they´d add an ò`to my name (in Europe Louisas mostly written without the "o") I`m currently in 9th grade and in my leisure time, I love playing volleyball, reading, sometimes drawing and lots of baking. Maybe, one day, we can bake or cook something togehter (german and american). A fun fact about me is, that I´m obsessed with "The Rookie and Gilmore Girls". I´ve seen both of them at least 10 times and it never gets boring. I also generally enjoy doing sports - the ones I already know, but I´m also always up to trying out new ones. I would describe myself as a mindopen person, that loves to spend time with friends and family. Next to my family, friendship is very important to me. My friends and me love just beeing at home, watching movies or hangig out and talking, but we also go to concerts, to funfairs or shopping trips to the nearest city. My family is a very important part as well and these are also things I totally like doing with my family. I`m living with my mom, dad and brother, who`s only two years younger than me, which is why we do have a really good connection. He plays soccer, so I often spend my weekends watching him play. We also have a cat. Because I love spending time with my family I really hope to find a family that also likes spending time together, doing movie nights or just talking about our days. I can be quiet at first, but once I feel comfortable I talk a lot an love to laugh. For me, this exchange year, isnt`t just about improving my english. I want to experience the everyday life in America. I want to get to know your school system and I´m especially really excited to get to know your culture, especially fall and Christmas season, because I love everything about that time of the year. I also asked my friends and family to describe me in three words. They described me as a nice, funny an cute person and my mom added that I´m an easy going girl. Once I feel save, I never shut up. What can you expect from me: Obviously I will respect your rules and I will always ask if I´m unsure about anything. I´m happy to help with the dishes, cooking, doing my laundry or spending time and playing with kids, if you have little ones. If something is bothering me or if I don`t understand something, I will talk to you directly and I hope you will do the same with me. Well, thank you for opening your home and your hearts and giving me the opportunity to become part of your family. I know, it´s a big step to welcome someone new and I`ll give my very best to be a positive part of your family. I hope it`s going to be a great experience for both of us. I´m really excited to meet you and get to know you. Warm greetings, Louisa
