SARAH
's Letter
Dear Host Family and School Community,
My name is Sarah, and I am very excited about the opportunity to introduce myself and share a little about who I am, what I enjoy, and what I hope to experience during my High School exchange program. I see this opportunity as much more than studying in another country. For me, it is a chance to discover new perspectives, challenge myself, and grow both as a student and as a person.
At school, I consider myself a participative student who enjoys being involved in class and learning new things. I believe that asking questions, listening to different ideas, and taking part in activities are important parts of learning. I try to approach unfamiliar subjects with curiosity and an open mind, because I know that some of the most valuable experiences come from stepping outside our comfort zones. I am willing to adapt to new routines, new teaching styles, and different ways of thinking, and I look forward to discovering what school life is like in another country.
Outside the classroom, I really enjoy spending time with my friends. Whether we are talking, laughing, or simply enjoying an ordinary day together, these moments mean a lot to me. I also love going to the movies, because I enjoy the experience of watching stories unfold and then sharing opinions about them. Whenever possible, I like traveling with my parents. Traveling gives us special memories together and allows me to see different places, experience new environments, and appreciate how much there is to discover beyond my everyday routine.
One of the things that excites me most about High School abroad is the opportunity to meet people from different backgrounds and build new friendships. I would love to learn about local traditions, everyday habits, and the small details that make each culture unique. I also hope to share a little of my own culture and life in Brazil with the people I meet. I understand that adapting to a new country may involve challenges, but I am ready to be patient, respectful, and open to learning from those experiences.
Improving my English is another important goal. I want to become more comfortable
expressing my ideas, participating in conversations, and communicating naturally in everyday situations. I believe that using English at school, with friends, and in daily life will help me build confidence step by step. I do not expect everything to be easy from the beginning, but I am motivated to practice, make mistakes, learn from them, and keep improving.
I am especially excited about the possibility of joining running clubs and exploring elective subjects at school. Being part of a running club would be a wonderful way to stay active, challenge myself, and connect with other students who share an interest in sports. I am also looking forward to elective classes because they would allow me to explore subjects beyond my usual curriculum, discover new interests, and perhaps find talents or passions I have not yet had the chance to develop. I would be happy to take part in school activities and make the most of the opportunities available to me.
By the end of this experience, I hope to return to Brazil as a more mature, independent, and confident person. I want to feel proud of having learned to navigate new situations, take greater responsibility for myself, and communicate in English with much more confidence. Above all, I hope to bring home meaningful friendships, unforgettable memories, and a broader understanding of the world.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me. I am truly looking forward to this new chapter, and I hope to contribute to my school community with enthusiasm, kindness, curiosity, and a genuine willingness to learn.
Warm regards,
Sarah
