Dear Host Family, Thank you so much for being willing to participate in the exchange program and for considering me to be part of your family. My name is Manuela, I’m 16 years old, and I am from Brazil, I was born in São Paulo. I’m a sophomore in high school. I’m very excited about the opportunity to live this experience and share my culture with you. I live with my parents, and we have a very close and loving relationship. Our home is always full of life because we have pets — two dogs, one cat, and one bird. We enjoy spending time together, especially during meals, when we listen to music and talk about our day. I come from an Evangelical family, and Christian values are an important part of my life. I’m a very determined, responsible, and caring person. I always try to give my best in everything I do and I do not give up easily. I value my family and friends a lot, and I always try to act with kindness and empathy. I love sports, especially volleyball, which is my biggest passion. I started playing when I was very young and returned to it when I was thirteen. Today, I play for my school team and participate in tournaments. Volleyball is very important to me because it makes me feel happy and motivated. In my free time, I enjoy coloring, doing makeup, watching tutorials, and spending time with my friends, my best friend, and my boyfriend. I also like walking my dogs and having dinner with my family. I always try to balance my free time with my school responsibilities. In the future, I plan to pursue a career in Information Technology. I’m very interested in technology and how it can be used to solve problems and improve people’s lives. I enjoy learning new things and challenging myself, and I believe this field will allow me to grow both personally and professionally. I’m still exploring different areas within IT, but I’m excited about the opportunities it offers and motivated to build a successful career in this field. I’m very excited to learn more about your culture and daily life, and I would love to share my culture with you as well. Even though I have visited the United States before, I know that living with a host family will be a completely different and special experience.
