Dear host family, Thank you very much for being willing to participate in the exchange program and for welcoming me into your home. I really appreciate this opportunity. I'm a 16-year-old Brazilian boy who has always dreamed of studying in the United States and I'm very excited to live with your family, get to know your culture and share mine with you. I look forward to trying new things, meeting new people, participate in volunteer working, join school clubs and getting to know the daily life of an American family. My family is very important to me. My father and mother work in the Brazilian Air Force. I have two sisters. The oldest studies medicine in another city. The youngest and I study in a military school. We also have a pet, a 3-year-old Dachshund who brings a lot of joy to our home. On Sunday mornings we all go to church together. We are very close and like to support each other. I would describe myself as an active, friendly and charismatic person. Sports and a healthy diet are very important in my life, I mainly like playing tennis, but I like martial arts, calisthenics, weightlifting and playing handball too. I also enjoy trampolines, riding bicycles, scooters as well as hiking. At the weekends I usually stay with my group of closest friends, we like to hang out and play soccer, board games or ride around with our bicycles together. In my free time, I like watching anime, walking my dog, playing with my dog, reading, playing piano, helping with house shores, studying and sometimes playing video games. Brazilian culture is unique and I would love to share it with you. Brazil is known for its warm and friendly people, music, delicious food and festivals such as “Carnaval”. I will be very happy to tell you about some traditions and celebrations, so that you can experience a little of Brazilian culture.
