Dear Host Family,
I am truly excited for the opportunity to study in the United States and live with a host family. I would love to spend this year with you, become a part of your daily life, and learn more about your culture, traditions, and family values. Thank you for your openness and willingness to welcome me into your home. I sincerely hope we will connect easily and have a wonderful year together.
A little about me: I currently live and study in Ukraine. My family is very important to me — I have my parents, an older brother, and a younger sister. We are very close and always support each other in everything we do.
I lead a healthy lifestyle. I do not smoke (including e-cigarettes), I do not drink alcohol, and I am completely against drugs. These are my personal values that I strongly believe in and follow.
At home, I am organized and responsible. I respect house rules, keep my space tidy, and always try to follow agreements. I understand the importance of being considerate and easy to live with.
I love animals very much. I grew up around many different pets, so I understand their behavior well and easily connect with them. We have an 8-year-old dog who is very smart. She is small but knows many commands and understands us very well.
I am friendly and open-minded. I make friends easily and adapt well to new environments. Growing up with my older brother helped me become confident in communication and not be afraid of new situations. I truly enjoy meeting new people and learning from them.
Throughout my life, I have tried many activities: ballet, piano, drawing, different types of dance, volleyball, swimming, and more. I am always open to trying new sports and hobbies. Recently, I have become especially interested in sports such as ball games, wrestling, and track and field. I enjoy challenging myself and staying active.
In my free time, I prefer calm activities. I am not a fan of loud parties or big crowds. I enjoy reading, spending time outdoors with friends, and being in nature.
I am a peaceful and respectful person. I value mutual respect and usually get along well with others. I believe communication and understanding are very important in a family.
Studying in the United States is an important step for me. I want to improve my English, meet new people, experience American school life, and gain valuable knowledge and life experience for my future.
I would also love to learn more about your family — how you spend time together, what you enjoy doing on weekends, and whether you have special traditions. If there are any house rules or expectations for me, please let me know. I will gladly respect them, as I truly want to be a comfortable and positive member of your family during my stay.
Thank you again for this opportunity. I am very much looking forward to meeting you!
Sincerely,
Olena
