Julia
's Letter
Hello!
I am Julia,
I am a very caring, polite, responsible and funny girl, and also a bit shy at first. However, when I gain confidence with people, I become very outgoing and fun. At the same time, I am also able to handle serious situations when needed and have deep conversations or give advice when someone needs it.
There are four people in my family: my parents, Elena and Pedro, and my brother, JosĆ© Pedro. We donāt have any pets, although my father, my brother and I would love to have one, but my mother doesnāt allow it. At home, we all help with chores: my parents cook, I set and clear the table and load the dishwasher, and my brother makes the beds.
On my motherās side of the family, I have my uncles Javi and M. Ćngeles, my cousins Paula and Gabriel, and my uncles Paco and Yolanda with my cousin Tania. I get along very well with all of them; we have a very strong connection and love each other a lot. My cousin Paula got married in India to her husband Jatin, and now Iām going to have a new baby in the family! Also, my cousin Tania and her husband Cristian gave me the best little nephew in the world.
On my fatherās side, I have my uncles JosĆ© Antonio and Paloma and my cousins Paula and Carlos, as well as my aunt Ana and my cousins Salva and Carlota. Just like with my motherās family, we all get along very well and make an amazing team.
In my free time, I usually dance or go out with my friends. I love making plans with themāno matter what we do, Iām always smiling. I practice swimming and athletics; I have been swimming since I was 5 years old and it has always been my passion. I also really like football, even though Iām not very good at it, I always try my best to improve. I support my local team, Real Murcia, and I go to all the matches because I have a season ticket.
I also love babies. I really enjoy taking care of them, and everyone says Iām very good at it because I always try to do my best.
My motivation for this exchange is that, at the same time as I learn a new language, I will grow as a person. I will be spending many months outside of my comfort zone, adapting and facing completely new situations. I would love to live the āAmerican dream,ā learn about the culture, and gain a deeper understanding of the country. Having a good relationship with my host family would be a dream for me, as well as traveling to other states and discovering your city with you.
I would love to try out for cheerleading and flag football, make new friends at school, and live an unforgettable experience. Here in Spain, my grades are very goodāsome better than others, but overall very strong. I donāt usually have problems studying, although I can be a bit lazy sometimes, but I always end up getting good results. I am respectful of rules, and I am polite with both teachers and classmates.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read my letter. I am really excited about the possibility of becoming part of your family and sharing this experience with you. I hope to meet you soon!
