's Letter
Dear Host Family,
First of all, I would like to thank you for this opportunity for children from another country to visit the USA, study at school, live in a family, and learn about the culture and hospitality of the American people.
With this letter, I want to introduce myself and tell you a little bit about my dream of studying in the USA.
My name is Matei, I`m an active and cheerful young man. For the past five years, I have been a member of the scout organization in my country, which educates young people based on patriotism, Christian morality, and a love for nature. Currently, I`m very involved in organizing events, leading groups of younger children, and managing fundraising for scout trips.
I love the mountains, football, basketball, volleyball, cycling, and snowboarding. I also train at the gym three times a week. My favorite school subjects are English, history, and mathematics. I like reading philosophical books.
After graduation I plan to attend the Catholic University in the Faculty of Philosophy and Theology in my hometown. Perhaps after graduating from university I`ll become a priest.
I want to tell you about my family too. My mother is a private entrepreneur, she has her owns shops selling art supplies; my father has a theological education but works in online retail, and my older sister is studying to be a commercial airline pilot.
I love to travel. My family and I have visited many European countries. I have never been to the USA, but it would be very interesting to visit. The USA is a very interesting and unusual country, which is known for its architectural and natural attractions, as well as friendly, polite and hospitable people.
I will be grateful to my host family for the opportunity to live with them and I will be glad to have the opportunity to thank them - I can help with the housework, mow the lawn or wash the car or do other work that I can.
Thank you and I look forward to meeting you,
Matei
