Rodrigo
's Letter
Dear Host Family,
Firstly I would like to introduce myself, my name is Rodrigo and I am turning in January.
My Family is small and I don’t have any brothers or sisters(I whish I had one at least ).
My father works in an American company as a process engineer and also as an online teacher for robotics. He likes travelling, watching series, diving and skiing. We live close to the mountains so I go skiing with him whenever we can. My mother is a Primary French and English teacher In a Catholic school. She enjoys practicing pilates and weigh lifiting in a gym. She is very active and enjoys taking courses on inner growing knowledge, mindfulness and natural medicine. When she was Young, she was an Exchange student herself. She lived in Arizona and she still keeps very fond memories of those months. My uncle and cousins have also studied in the US for one year (my cousin is, in fact, studying in Wisconsin at the moment) and after listening to them I am still more interested to experience all that by myself.
I am a very homely boy but I adore travelling but, I must admit I am not a great lover of soccer or football, although I don’t dislike sports. I enjoy swimming and I have always adored skiing since I was a kid.
I connect really fast with nature (even though I don’t really like creepy-crawlies…).
Music and cooking are very common on my daily routines since, after all, they are what make me feel happy.
I adore playing my guitar. I’ve been playing it for two now and I keep on learning it.
Recently I've listenin to lots of jpop-rock-metal musican, what maked me like a lot anime and japanese culture.
I try to help with the housework because I believe that all the members of the family have to collaborate in the common chores. As a matter of fact, I am into cooking and love trying new recipes.
One of my biggest goals is to become a vet, or maybe a chef.
I am very excited about having the experience of spending the whole academic year in USA.
New experiences, new posibilities of meeting new people and making new friends fills me with excitement.
I really relish the chance of becoming one of your family members for the School year and share with you everything that may come up during that time.
I feel that I am very lucky for the opportunity that my parents, and you!, are giving me and I would really like to make the most of it.
I am sure that, even if some difficulties pop up in the way, I’ll be able to cope with them with your help.
You can’t imagine how grateful I am to you for giving me this incredible, unforgettable opportunity. I am just looking forward to it.
Thank you very much for considering me as your new host son.
