Dear Host Family, Hello, my name is Theo and I am from Brazil. I am very excited about the opportunity to participate in this exchange program, experience a new culture, and become part of your family. I am very open to new experiences like this one, and I enjoy trying different things to discover what I like and what I don’t. That is how I found out that I enjoy sports like basketball and jiu-jitsu more than soccer, even though I am from Brazil where most people prefer soccer. I would love the opportunity to try sports that are more common in the United States, like baseball, wrestling, and maybe even hockey. I have quite a few hobbies. Two of them are jiu-jitsu and basketball, although I am more dedicated to jiu-jitsu, and I usually play basketball just for fun with my friends. Recently I also started learning how to draw, because I often see drawings of characters from series that I like and wish I could make something similar. I am still a beginner, but I enjoy practicing and improving. In my free time I also enjoy playing videogames. I usually play with my friends, and I enjoy racing games when I play by myself because I like cars and racing. Another hobby of mine is learning about cars. I find it interesting to understand how they work and what each part of a car does, and while learning about cars I also end up learning about racing history and racing strategies. I almost forgot to mention that I also play drums. I started when I was around five or six years old, but I had to stop during the pandemic. About six months ago I started playing again and had to relearn the basics, but I really enjoy it. When I want to relax, I enjoy watching movies and TV series. One show I like is Reacher, and I also enjoy watching anime when I have time. Recently I have also been focusing more on my school performance. In the past I sometimes studied just enough to pass my classes, but I realized that I wanted to improve and challenge myself more. Because of that, I have been putting more effort into my homework and trying to stay more organized with my assignments. At home I spend time with my family and our dogs. I usually keep my room organized and help take care of them. My home life is fairly calm, and I enjoy simple things like watching movies, talking, or just relaxing at home. I understand that every family has different routines, and I am happy to adapt and help with household tasks so I can be a good member of your family.
