Dear host family, Thank you so much for being willing to participate in the exchange program and for welcoming me into your family. My name is Anya, I am a Russian girl, and this year I am finishing 10th grade! I love trying new things and I want to explore the world, including America. I am excited to learn about American culture and become part of your daily life. I am an outgoing, straightforward, creative, and artistic person who also values academics and enjoys having fun! I like practicing yoga, going to the gym, and swimming. I absolutely love reading, writing poems and short stories, and I want to study American culture in depth to grow in this field. I also enjoy volunteering and every year I help at a children’s language camp. I would love to continue doing volunteer work in America. It makes me happy to help other people, especially older people and younger children. Since childhood, cinema has been my passion, and I dream of connecting my future with it. In America, I hope to find like minded people and create amateur films for my future portfolio. My parents both have academic degrees and work as university professors. My mom is in the humanities, and I take after her, while my dad is more focused on math and science, just like my younger sister. She is three and a half years younger than me and is currently in 7th grade. We are a very close family, and I hope to become a part of your family as well! I think the Russian language and culture are among the most diverse in the world. Russia has a very rich cultural heritage, including great literature, well known cinema, diverse music, and strong achievements in sports. I would love to share Russian traditions and everyday life with you, as well as introduce you to traditional dishes such as blini and pelmeni. I would also be happy to share Russian songs so you can feel the atmosphere of our culture. When I watch vlogs about American student life, I imagine what my life there could be like.
