Dear future host family, My name is Emma and I am writing to you from Italy, I have always dreamed of experiencing life in another country, not just as a visitor, but as a member of a new community and a new family. I come from a family of five. I have two older sisters who have taught me so much, and I am also a proud aunt. My nephew is just nineteen months old, and he is the joy of our house. We love doing everything together, whether it’s travelling to new places or simply enjoying a long dinner while sharing stories about our day. These moments have taught me the importance of family bonds. In my daily life, I’m a person who loves talking, but I’ve learned that listening is just as important. I find it very rewarding to help others whenever I can. Regarding my interests, I recently stopped playing volleyball, but I have always really enjoyed it and I also really liked the team atmosphere that was created between us members. During my exchange year, I would love to have the chance to participate in a team sports. I also love animals, though I don’t have any pets of my own yet, and I always have music playing in the background whatever I’m doing. I am ready to bring my Italian energy, my love for food, and my willingness to help into your home. I know there might be challenges, but I’m ready to grow, step out of my comfort zone, and grow as a person while sharing this journey with you. My friendships are a huge part of my world. I have two best friends who mean the world to me: Sofia, whom I’ve known since we were born because our parents were already close, and Serena, I met her when I was 13 through aerial silk. We shared the same passion and we formed a strong bond that is still incredibly strong today. I also want to share a bit more about my personality, including my areas of improvements… for example I am a huge fan of TV series, and sometimes I just like to curl up on the couch and take my time to relax, while sometimes I like to be more active. Also, I can be at times a little sensitive. If someone I care about criticizes me, I might take it to heart at first, but I am working on it. I always prefer to have an honest talk to clear the air, as I value sincerity above all. In addition, I think I am open-minded and curious about learning new things. In my daily life, I always try to be polite and kind to everyone I meet, as I believe respect is fundamental. I am looking forward to getting to know a bit more about you too.
