's Letter

Dear Host Family, My name is Gabriel and I am very excited about the opportunity to spend a year with you in the United States. I am a teenage boy living in France. I attend a school where I have classes in the morning and sports in the afternoon (tennis, swimming), which suits me perfectly because I really enjoy staying active. Sports are an important part of my life. I love discovering new activities, being outdoors, and spending time with my friends. I also enjoy playing video games and hanging out with them. At home, I live mostly with my mother, my sister - who practices horse riding -and our dog Tokyo - an Australian Shepherd, and I’m very close to her. I am very close to animals, especially dogs. I would describe myself as open minded, sociable and friendly. I adapt well to new situations and enjoy meeting new people. I try to stay positive and I am respectful toward others. I am also responsible and organized, especially when it comes to my homework and daily life, but I also know how to ask for help when I need it. People can count on me, and I truly believe in genuine friendship. I am also motivated, reliable, and enthusiastic, especially when discovering new cultures and sharing experiences. One of the things I look forward to most is learning about your culture — your daily life, your traditions, your way of celebrating holidays, and everything that makes American life unique. I am excited to participate in your family activities and in the events of the year. I am also impatient to discover the different clubs, sports, and activities offered at high school. I also hope to make new friends and be part of the student life there. I would love to share parts of my own culture too. I enjoy cooking simple French dishes and would be happy to prepare some for you. I know that this experience will be a big change for me, and I do have a bit of apprehension, but in a positive way. I am ready to adapt, learn, and make the most of this adventure. In the future, I would like to study finance, especially trading. I believe that living in a new country and improving my English will be very helpful for my education and future goals. Thank you so much for welcoming me into your home and offering me the chance to live such a wonderful experience within your family. I truly appreciate it, and I look forward to meeting you. Warm regards Gabriel
