Dear Host Family,
First of all, I would like to thank you for giving me the chance to introduce myself and for opening your home. My name is Nathan, I live in a small village that is part of a small town in the Netherlands. I am really excited about the opportunity to spend a year in the United States, to experience everyday life as an American and share my own culture with you. I'm a very independent boy i like to start my own projects like making and training my own ai’s. I really like everything around technology. I also really like to cook things like full meals but also cakes and other desserts. and my mother still wants me to follow a chef course but i just like cooking for myself and my loved ones.
I live together with my parents and 1 of my 2 older brothers. I have a very good relationship with all of them. With my mother I talk a lot about my day, school or future plans. My father and I just chill around he works really hard so I don't see him that much. With Joran my older brother I share important moments. He is older than me, but we get along well and often laugh together. My other brother lives in cape town with some friends I visit him twice a year but I still miss him a lot. But he always make sure he is home for Christmas
Friendships are also very important to me. I don't have a lot of friends but the ones I do have I am verry happy with I have 4 best friends. But I got one friendship that is so special to me because we have know each other sins kindergarten we spend so much time together we are together all the time we like to hang out in our back garden Lisen to music together
Another thing I’m really excited about in America is the high school experience. I’m especially looking forward to the school spirit, football games, and all the activities around school life that you often see in movies and hear about from other students. I’m hoping to join some activities and really become part of the school community.
For me, this exchange year is not only about school but also about becoming even more independent, learning about a new culture, and building lifelong memories.
Thank you so much for considering hosting me. I’m really looking forward to meeting you and becoming part of your family.
Kind regards,
Nathan
