's Letter
Dear future host family,
my name is M., I am 16 years old and I live in Italy.
I am a very sociable, friendly and calm person.
At school I do fairly well and, despite the challenges that studying involves, I always try to stay committed and consistent.
I attend a scientific high school, where my grades are generally average.
My favorite subjects are literature and mathematics, while the subject I find most difficult is Latin.
One of the most important aspects of my life is sport.
I practice boxing and train every day.
This sport has taught me discipline, responsibility and determination, because it pushes me to train even when I do not feel like it and to make sacrifices in order to reach my goals.
I believe that the values sport has taught me are also very important in everyday life.
At home I live with my parents, my two brothers and, occasionally, my grandmother.
I have a very good relationship with all the members of my family: I enjoy talking with them about my day, sharing my experiences and laughing together.
In particular, I have a close relationship with my father, with whom I share many aspects of my life and who always helps me by giving me valuable advice.
We also have a cat, whom I consider part of the family.
During the week my days are quite well organised.
I usually wake up around 7:30 a.m., prepare my breakfast, get dressed and get ready for school.
I stay at school until 2:00 p.m. and, to get home, I take the bus with my friends.
I arrive home at around 2:30 p.m. and, since both of my parents work, I often organise myself independently to prepare lunch for myself and my younger brother.
After eating, I relax for a while.
At around 4:00 p.m. I start studying and doing my homework, which usually lasts until 5:30/5:45 p.m.
Afterwards I get ready for training: I train with great intensity from 6:15 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
At the end of training I go back home by car with my older brother.
Once at home, I take a shower, finish any homework left, have dinner and relax by watching some television.
I usually go to sleep around 10:30 p.m.
This is my routine from Monday to Friday.
On Saturday I relax, go running in the afternoon and in the evening I go out with my friends.
We usually meet in the town square to spend time with people our age or do activities such as padel or bowling.
On Sunday, instead, I mainly stay at home, dedicating time to rest, studying and my family.
Occasionally, I go to a small town where my family has a second home to spend time with my cousins and uncles, who live there.
I consider myself a polite, respectful, understanding and responsible person, and I always try to adapt calmly to new situations.
I hope that this experience abroad will help me grow, discover a new culture and build a meaningful relationship with you.
Thank you very much for the time you have dedicated to reading my letter. I hope to meet you soon and I want to thank you in advance for the initiative to host an exchange student.
Kind regards,
M.
