Hello dear host family,
Even though I love my life here, I feel like I want more. I want to discover the world and see what life is like somewhere else. Going to the United States for ten months, living with a host family, and attending an American high school isn’t about running away from my life, it’s about growing. I want to prove to myself that I can adapt, become more independent, and build real confidence in who I am.
I truly want to become fluent in English, not just in class, but in real life. I want to think in English, dream in English, understand jokes and everyday expressions, and experience the culture from the inside. I can already imagine myself walking through the halls of an American high school, with lockers, sports teams, clubs, and school events. I know it won’t always be easy and that I might feel homesick sometimes, but I believe those challenges will help me grow stronger.
For me, this is much more than a school exchange. It’s a human adventure. Living with a host family, sharing their daily life, traditions, and values, and building meaningful connections with people who could become like a second family. I want to come back more open-minded, more mature, and full of unforgettable memories. These ten months feel like a unique opportunity to become a stronger, braver version of myself.
