Dear host family, My name is Olivia, I’m from Poland. I’m very excited to finally fulflill my dream I have had for several years, to go on an exchange year to the USA and become part of your family. Now, I’d like to tell you about myself, my family, friends, hobbies and why I actually want go to your country. I describe me as a friendly, cheerful, open and helpful person. I really like try new activities and I’m open to trying your passion so I can get to know you better. Okey, maybe there is one sports discipline that I don’t like, it’s mountain hiking, but apart from that I think I can handle everything. So my passion is dancing. I’ve been a dancer for two years and I dance modern jazz. I go to dance classes twice a week. I also really like do Pilates and I try to do it five times a week. Sport is generally important to me because it makes me feel better about myself. I live with my parents and brother. My brother is three years older than me and he will be moving out of town just like me, because he’s going to college. We have also dog. It name is Kiki and it’s girl. We like to spend time together playing board games or leaving the house for a walk or to eat something. For me good contact with family is very important. ( It would be great to be part of the host family with children in my age because I would feel much more confident) My free time I really like spending with my friends group. When we go out we are never bored and it is always fun. In summer we plan to go to a festival and maybe take a trip to another city. This year I also changed the school so I met even more people with whom I have great vibe. My friends mean a lot to me and I am very grateful that we met. I also like to baking and during Covid I was able to bake something new every few days. So now, on various occasions my family always counts on me to bake something because I’m really good at it. Time for myself is also important to me. Even though I’m a sociable person, I need personal space and time just for myself. Why do I want to become an exchange student in America? There are so many reasons I could list, like living the American high school dream, going to a football game, experiencing Thanksgiving, celebrating Halloween (especially since it's my favourite holiday), and of course, going to Walmart because as an exchange student it's a fascinating and new experience for me, just like trying Crumble Cookies or Cane's. You are also a very important aspect of the exchange for me. I believe that the course of my preparation depends largely on our relationship. I would love to get to know you as much as possible and spend a lot of time with you. We could play games, cook, go for a walks together with the dog if you get an animal ( I personally love going for walks, especially at sunset), try new activities or just have a movie night. I also believe I could contribute a lot to your family by giving you the opportunity to learn about my culture, which is also interesting. I still can’t believe that my dream will come true in just a few months and I will be able to become part of your family. I can't wait to meet you and hope it happens soon.
