Dear host family, My name is Elina, I am 15 years old and I live in France, in the countryside. I am currently enrolled in grade 10 at a high school. Since I was very little, I have dreamed of discovering the United States. I started to inquire and I discovered the job of an au pair girl. So I wanted to do this experience after obtaining my baccalaureate. But subsequently, by inquiring, I discovered the existence of exchange programs. By integrating an American high school, I could discover a new culture and live a real experience of an American person by going to school. But also to live the American life fully in a family, I would be happy to share with you your daily life and discover your lifestyle habits. I also aim to deepen my English which would favor my further studies and allow me to travel more. I was born into a family that taught us the value of mutual aid, with my 17-year-old brother, we participate in home life by helping with household chores and cooking. I have a relatively basic life like all young people my age. Upon returning from school, I am doing my homework, I am a rather studious student. Outside of classes, I like to try a lot of activities with my friends. Outside of school, I like to hang out with my friends, I also love traveling a lot with my family. I also make this trip because I am always up for testing new things. This experience may allow me to discover another way of living. I am mature, very sunny according to my friends, always smiling. I also like to please my loved ones and friends, for example by cooking for them, I know how to cook well. I am very creative by nature, I really like manual activities and interior decoration, I help my Dad with crafts (painting, floors). I am of a coquettish nature. I particularly like fashion, shopping, and the history of haute couture houses. I had the opportunity to participate in a language stay at an English college in London, which allowed me to improve my English and open up to new people. It also strengthened my desire to participate in this school year at High School. Recently I had the joy of receiving a Spanish correspondent. This allowed me to discuss our respective cultures, I had a lot of fun and next month, it’s my turn to join her at her place. Some time ago, I discovered reading and since then I have been reading very regularly at home. I read romance books. I really like music and I went several times with my parents and friends to concerts, I really like English-speaking singers including The Weeknd and Ladygaga. I like to share time with the rest of my family (cousins, grandmother, godmother.....) Thank you for your attention to my letter and I am delighted to come share a school year with you.
