Dear Host Family, My name is Vinícius, I’m from Brazil. I’m currently in high school here, and I’m really excited about the opportunity to spend a year in the United States and get to know you. I’ve had the chance to travel to different countries, and during those trips I met people from many cultures. Being able to communicate with them and experience new environments has helped me grow a lot. I’ve always had a special interest in the United States — it’s a country that has always made me curious, and I’ve always really enjoyed traveling there and learning more about its culture. Because of that, doing an exchange year in the U.S. is something I’ve wanted for a long time. I’m a very active person and I like to stay busy. I’ve practiced sports like basketball, soccer, handball, and futsal, but I’m also always open to trying new things. I enjoy being part of a team and staying active in general. During the week, I usually go to school and follow my daily routine. I like to practice sports and I also do martial arts, which helps me stay disciplined and focused. On weekends, I enjoy spending time with my friends, going out, or doing something different, like trying new places or activities. I also like to have some time to relax and be with my family. Family is very important to me. I really enjoy spending time with my family and my friends, and I value having a positive and respectful environment at home. I have three siblings, and two of my older siblings have already done exchange programs in the United States. When they went, it wasn’t important just for them — it also meant a lot to our whole family. We built a strong connection with their host families, and we still keep in touch with them today. That’s something I would really love to experience as well. I would say I’m respectful, responsible, and easy to get along with. I’m willing to help with household chores, be part of your routine, and adapt to your lifestyle. I’m also excited to share a bit about my culture and life in Brazil with you.
