's Letter

Hello, my future host family, hope you guys are good! My name is Lucas and I'm from Brazil. For some time now, my desire to participate in an exchange program and study in high school in the United States has grown a lot, and it has become a dream, and now about to come true. Although I am very excited about this experience, I will really miss my life here in Brazil. However, this will not affect my motivation, which is to learn more about American culture, improve my English and, of course, make many new friends, something I do very easily. If I could describe myself, I would say that I am very communicative and funny with whom I have intimacy. I love being surrounded by people and having someone I can count on and talk to. I have high expectations for this program, such as learning new things and meeting new people. I would also love to share a little of Brazilian culture with you. I know that being away from my family and friends for so long will be challenging, but I am fully prepared to face this, because I know that this will be of great value for my future and personal learning. I like many things, such as listening to music, watching games of my favorite team and series, playing soccer, going to the gym and traveling. I'm a very easy person to conquer and very flexible: I like to go out, but I also like to stay at home relaxing. In addition, I am available to help with household chores when necessary and I am happy to participate in family activities. I hope to be a friendly and respectful member of your house. Now I'm going to talk a little about my life in São Paulo. At school, I've always been a good student and a good friend and colleague with the people around me, in general I get good grades, my favorite subjects are Portuguese Language, History and Geography, but unfortunately I have a lot of difficulty in math. My friends are like brothers to me. At home, my parents are very kind and affectionate, and we like to spend time together. On weekends, my parents and I usually go out or I go to my friends' house, but sometimes I also take advantage of my free time to study for exams. I'm a very sporty person. I usually go to the gym daily without fail, and always try to eat very well. I see this opportunity to study abroad as an important step for my future and for my personal development, especially to become more independent. It will be amazing to live a teenage experience that will be very different from mine here. I'm excited to participate in school and community events. I'm always willing to try new things, like different food and activities. I am very respectful of rules and routines and I understand the importance of communication and responsibility within a family. More than anything, I hope to create special memories with my host family and truly feel at home during this experience Thank you for read my letter, have a good day! .
