's Letter

Dear Future Host Family, I chose to join this program to fulfill a dream that began four years ago. It all started with a sudden fascination for the United States. I began researching the country, and I instantly fell in love with it. You have such a beautiful country with so much to discover, from big cities to breathtaking and diverse landscapes. The culture, the language, and the people truly inspire me. I watched many American movies and TV shows, and I often wondered what it would be like to experience high school life in the United States. Then I remembered that my stepbrother went to the USA for ten months when he was 17. I asked him about his experience and how he applied for the program. That was when my passion for the U.S. and my interest in this exchange program truly began. Let me tell you a little about myself. I am naturally shy at first, but once I feel comfortable and confident, I become a very energetic and enthusiastic person. I love discovering new things, whether it’s activities, food, sports, or new experiences. I enjoy many types of music, especially pop and a little rap, but my favorite is American music from the 70s to the 90s. My favorite song is “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” by Tears for Fears, and I also really like Elvis Presley. I am especially drawn to the West Coast for its incredible landscapes, such as the Pacific Northwest and the deserts along Route 66. One of my dreams is to stay in a typical motel near a canyon and fully experience those iconic American views. I decided to live in the USA because I truly love the country, the language, and the culture. I want to experience everyday American life: going to high school, possibly becoming a cheerleader, participating in bake sales, joining clubs, and experiencing prom, homecoming, spirit week, and especially Friday night football games. I would love to live in an American home, in a welcoming neighborhood, where English is spoken every day. In the future, I would like to attend an American university and study criminology to become an investigator. My second option would be to attend a police academy and join the LAPD (Los Angeles Police Department). I have many hobbies. I take dance classes for two hours each week and truly enjoy it. I also play golf occasionally with my dad, as he manages a golf course. At home, I love painting and creating handmade items like jewelry. One of my biggest passions is baking—I bake almost four times a week! My specialties are cupcakes and banana bread, but I also enjoy making creative cakes and simple treats like muffins. Finally, I like watching series and movies before going to bed. That is a little about me. I hope this letter helps you get to know me better. I am very excited about the possibility of becoming part of your family, sharing your daily life, learning your traditions, and creating unforgettable memories together. I am ready to open my heart to a new culture, to share mine with you, and to build a strong and meaningful connection with my future host family. Thank you very much for taking the time to read my letter. I truly hope to meet you soon! Warm regards, Charlotte
