Dear Host Family,
Thank you very much for being willing to participate in the exchange program and for welcoming me into your home to live with your family.
My name is Rafael, I am 15 years old, I am Brazilian, and I am currently attending high school. I love playing competitive team sports, especially judo and soccer, which I have practiced since I was little. My biggest wish is to join the school soccer team in the United States, and if there isn’t a soccer team, I am open and interested in trying other activities. Besides sports, I really enjoy spending time with my family and friends, watching movies, series, and sports programs on TV.
I speak three languages: Portuguese, which is my native language, Spanish, and intermediate English. Studying and practicing languages has always been important to me, and I believe that living with an American family will be a great opportunity to improve my English and become more fluent.
In Brazil, my routine is quite balanced. I study in the morning, and in the afternoon, I usually go to the sports club to train gym, judo and soccer or I take private English classes. On weekends, I always meet my friends, and on Sundays, it is a tradition in my family to get together for a barbecue with my uncles, aunts, grandparents, and cousins. We are a very close family, and I really value these moments together.
I live with my father, who is a businessman in the aesthetics field, my mother, who works in law, and my younger brother, who is in the 5th grade. We have a good relationship at home, which reflects how much I value family connections.
I would like to study the high school in the United States to improve my English, meet new people, and learn more about a different culture. I am sure this experience will expand my knowledge and help me build an exceptional professional career in the future.
I am very excited to live this experience, become part of your family, and create unforgettable memories with you!
Warm regards,
Rafael.
