Dear Future Host Family,
My name is Lisa and I am from Germany. I live in a small city in a house with a garden. At home, I live with my parents and my two brothers so life is sometimes busy and loud, but never boring. My older and younger brothers and I like to play sports outside in the garden, like football or badminton, and we enjoy spending time together. At the moment, my older brother is doing a training program in the military and comes home only on weekends. We also have a dog named Buddy, who is part of our family.
My dad works for a heating and air conditioning company and my mom is a fitness trainer who teaches different courses at a gym. Even though everyone is busy sometimes, we try to spend time together, especially during meals. We always have at least one meal together a day, and on weekends we like to do something together as a family. I sometimes take care of my younger brother when my parents work in the evening, helping him with homework or just spending time together. This has taught me responsibility and how important it is to help and care for others. I also keep my room tidy and help my parents with small tasks around the house.
I am currently in 10th grade. My favorite subjects are Sport, Art, Spanish, and English. I like learning new things and being creative. School is important to me and I always try to do my best.
In my free time, I like to be active and spend time with friends. I enjoy playing football and volleyball just for fun and I go to the gym regularly. Sports help me relax and clear my mind. I also volunteer by doing face painting for children at local events. The money we collect is donated for a good cause, which makes me happy because I can help others and make children smile.
One small thing about me is that I am not a big breakfast person. I usually donโt eat much in the morning at home and prefer having my first meal later at school during the break. I am generally open to trying new foods, but I do not like raw tomatoes, mushrooms and onions. Other than that, I am not picky. And on weekends, I really enjoy sleeping a little longer when possible.
I have traveled before, including a one-week exchange to Spain without my parents, and I love exploring new places. I would really like to experience life in an American family, learn about your traditions, and celebrate holidays like Thanksgiving, Halloween, and Christmas. I am curious about your daily routines and how you spend time together.
I am friendly, responsible, active, organized, and a bit shy at first, but I become more talkative when I feel comfortable. I really enjoy spending time with family and friends, and I would love to join in your family activities and help where I can. I hope we can create great memories together and learn from each other.
Thank you very much for considering hosting me. I am very excited about the possibility of becoming part of your family.
Best wishes
Lisa
