Dear Host Family,
Hello! Thank you very much for opening your home and your hearts to an exchange student. I would love to introduce myself and share a little about who I am and why this program is so important to me.
I am a creative, friendly, honest, and calm person. I value personal space and quiet time, but I also truly enjoy spending time with family and friends. Finding a healthy balance between independence and connection is very important to me.
In my free time, I enjoy going out with friends โ this can be visiting second-hand shops or flea markets, going to a quest room, watching a movie, or simply taking a walk together. With my family, I love talking, riding bicycles, playing games, and traveling. We often visit different cities and countries, and I really enjoy learning about new cultures. When I have time for myself, I like drawing or sculpting, playing computer games, spending time in nature, or walking with my dog.
I currently study at a private school with a focus on languages. I am studying to become a linguist and also take additional Spanish classes. School is an important part of my life, and I have good relationships with my classmates and friends there.
I am very interested in living with an American host family because I want to experience everyday family life in the United States. I would love to learn about your traditions, holidays, and customs, and understand how American families live and spend time together. I am also excited to attend an American high school, learn how the education system works, see how it differs from mine, and meet new people. An important goal of my exchange year is to find out how comfortable and suitable life in America will be for me, with a view to applying to university in the future.
I am always willing to help around the house. I can cook, do laundry, clean, and wash dishes. I also really love animals and would be happy to help take care of pets. It may take me a little time to get used to new rules and routines, but I am flexible and adaptable, and I respect family rules and open communication.
In the future, I would like to connect my life with a creative profession, possibly directing or architecture. I am still exploring my interests, and I believe that participating in this exchange program will help me learn more about myself, improve my English, and better understand my future educational goals. For me, this exchange is not only a great opportunity but also a personal challenge โ I want to become more independent, confident, and communicative.
I would also be very happy to share my culture with you. I would love to tell you more about Ukraine, its traditions, holidays, mentality, and national cuisine. I would even be happy to cook some traditional dishes and help break common myths by sharing real stories about my country.
I am a fairly independent person and have experience staying home alone for several days, so independence is not a problem for me. Emotional support from my host family is really important to me.I can be a bit shy at first and may need some time to adapt, but once I feel comfortable, I am open, caring, and sincere. Sometimes I can be a little forgetful or distracted, but I always try to be responsible and honest.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read my letter. I truly hope to become part of your family, share everyday life with you, and create meaningful memories together.
Warm regards,
Nataly
