Dear Host Family, first of all, thank you very much for being willing to host an exchange student and for opening your home to someone from another country. I really appreciate this opportunity and I am very excited about the chance to spend time abroad and become part of your family. My name is Ruben and I come from Germany. I grew up in a big family with several siblings, so life at home is usually very lively and active. Because of that, I learned early how important respect, teamwork and supporting each other are. I enjoy spending a lot of time outdoors and being active. Sports are a big part of my life. I play volleyball and soccer and I also work as a soccer referee. This experience has taught me how to stay calm, make fair decisions and take responsibility. Nature is also very important to me. I like running through the forests near my home and spending time outside. In summer I enjoy swimming in lakes or going stand-up paddling and in winter I love skiing and ice skating. Animals are also part of my everyday life. At home I help to take care of our dogs, cats and my chickens. Sometimes I also go with my father when he works as a veterinarian on farms, which I find very interesting. I am a curious, friendly and active person and I am very interested in learning about other cultures. I am really looking forward to experiencing daily life with my host family, learning about your traditions and sharing many great moments together.
