's Letter

Dear future host family, Hello! My Chinese name is Yun Sheng, and you can also me Celia. Thank you very much for choosing me as a member of your family for the coming ten months. I truly appreciate your kindness and generosity, and I feel very honored to have this opportunity to live with your family. I am excited about this exchange program and sincerely look forward to sharing a pleasant, meaningful, and memorable experience together with all of you. I am currently a tenth-grade student in Taiwan. I would be quiet and shy at first when I arrived in a new place, but once I become familiar with my surroundings and the people around me, I gradually become more cheerful and open. There are three members in my family: my dad, my mom, and me. We live in a house that is not very big, but it is warm, comfortable, and full of love. My parents are very supportive of my decision to join this exchange program. They are also sincerely thankful to you for welcoming me into your home. Both of my parents work in the hospital. My father is a pediatrician, and my mother is a administrator. Growing up in such an environment has influenced my values deeply. Because I enjoy helping others, I volunteered at the hospital for three weeks during the summer of my eighth grade and again for two weeks during the summer of my ninth grade. These experiences taught me patience, and responsibility, and let me understand the importance of caring for others. I have been a Girl Scout since I was 5 years old. I participated in various Girl Scout activities and events, including the World Scout Jamboree in Korea, which was a very special and unforgettable experience for me. Through these things, I have learned many important values, such as teamwork, responsibility, and respect for others. If I have the opportunity, I hope to continue participating in Girl Scout activities in America and make new friends from different cultures. In my free time, I enjoy being close to nature and watching movies. I often go hiking, take part in wildlife observation, and go snorkeling. One of my most special experiences was seeing a flying squirrel in the trees and a seahorse in the ocean. I also enjoy fantasy movies, especially the Harry Potter series, which inspires my imagination and love for magical worlds. I look forward to making friends, and I am very interested in cultural exchange. During my time with you, I think we can share our culture together, including our food, festivals, school life, daily traditions, everyday life or everything we want to talk about. I believe this exchange will help me grow and create wonderful memories. Thank you again for your kindness. I am truly looking forward to meeting you soon. Sincerely yours, Celia
