's Letter
Dear host family,
I’m so happy to write this letter and introduce myself to you. I’m really excited about the opportunity to spend a year with you. Living with a host family is very special to me because it means sharing real moments together and discovering your culture from the inside. I’m curious about everything, so I can’t wait to learn new things and experience everyday life with you.
I would describe myself as friendly, positive, and open-minded. I enjoy discovering new activities, doing sports, and spending time with people. I really love skiing, which is one of my favorite activities. I also like challenging myself and trying new things. I’m very open to all sorts of activities, whether it’s karting, horse riding, painting, or other creative hobbies. I also like shopping and I’m interested in fashion. I enjoy doing creative or hands-on activities as well.
I love animals and I also really enjoy being around children; they usually like me too.
I enjoy simple things like talking, laughing, watching a movie together, or just sharing a meal and telling stories about our day.
I spend a lot of time with my friends, especially at school. We often organize small gatherings or little parties together, which are always really fun. I also like supporting the people I care about in their projects or hobbies. For example, I sometimes go with one of my closest friends, Anastasija, to her horse riding competitions to cheer her on. These moments are very important to me because I enjoy encouraging the people around me.
With my family, we often go to car meet-ups because my dad owns a Mustang and a Corvette. I really love going for rides in these cars with him—it’s always fun and enjoyable. I also sometimes go with my dad to sporting clays events, either for competitions or just for fun, and I even get to shoot sometimes, which makes it even more exciting.
During my summer holidays, I spend almost the entire month of July at a camping site with my grandmother. I’ve been going there since I was born, and it feels like a second home to me. The camping site is by the sea, and I get to see my childhood friends every year, which I really enjoy.
I’m also respectful and responsible, and I’ll be happy to help at home and be part of family life.
For me, this year is not just about improving my English. It’s also about meeting amazing people, creating memories, and growing as a person. I would love to share a bit of my culture with you too, maybe through food, traditions, or just funny stories about life in France. I’m also really excited to experience the American dream, from school life to events like prom, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and all the unique traditions that come with them. I can’t wait to enjoy these celebrations and share these special moments with your family.
I really hope I can become not only your exchange student but also someone you enjoy having around in your home. I’m excited to meet you, learn from you, and share this adventure together!
Best regards,
Anaëlle
