Dear future host family, I am very excited to become part of a new family and to experience a new adventure. I would describe myself as social, caring and optimistic. I love trying new things and I am an adventurous person who enjoys stepping out of my comfort zone. Here in the Netherlands, I live with my parents, my three older brothers and my cat, Bibi. I am really a family person and I love spending time with them. Some of the things we enjoy doing together are playing games, watching movies, going out for dinner and traveling. One of my favorite destinations I have been to with my family is Finland, where we went skiing. My family means a lot to me, and they are very important in my life. In my free time, I like going shopping, hanging out with friends and listening to music. I would describe myself as a mix between a girly girl and a thrill seeker. I really enjoy getting my nails done, doing my make-up and going to the hairdresser, but I also love exciting activities like jet skiing, rock climbing and going on waterslides. Another big part of my life is sports. In the Netherlands, I play a sport called korfbal. It is a mixed-gender sport that looks a bit like basketball and netball. This sport is very special to me, because the club where I play is also the place where my parents met each other. I have been coming there since I was a baby and I started playing korfbal myself when I was six years old. I have made many friends through korfbal, and every Saturday night we support the highest team of our club. Other sports I like are tennis and volleyball. I have never played these sports in competitions, but I played them at school and sometimes in my free time. If I get the opportunity in the United States, I would love to play one of these sports. My studies are also very important to me and I enjoy learning new things. During my stay, I would really like to experience American culture, especially holidays like Halloween and Christmas. I would also love to watch a real American football game with cheerleaders, music and drumlines. I would love to join your family activities and spend a lot of time together. I think I would be a great addition to your family because I am positive, adaptable and respectful. I am always willing to help and I will respect your home and values.
