's Letter

Dear Host Family, Thank you for accepting me to live with your family and for participating in the exchange program. I am a Ukrainian girl, and I am currently beginning the second semester of the 11th grade. Trying new things and exploring the world, including the USA, is something I am enthusiastic about.I desire to learn about American culture and share my culture with you. I am a very outgoing, open-minded, hard-working and responsible person. I enjoy playing sports, such as tennis, volleyball and badminton. Besides, I am into strength training. I speak three different languages, Ukrainian, English and German, and I look forward to becoming fluent in English by participating in this program. Additionally, I have experience in volunteering. I participated in two projects beyond my school and throughout this year, I was responsible for editing the school newspaper. It makes me happy to help other people and I feel a great sense of responsibility due to these projects. I have attended the gym for the last three years. I like sports and volunteering , and I hope to join the school organizations and sports activities. I understand that I may not be able to join those at my school so I am interested in trying other things and joining school clubs. My mom is an entrepreneur and she started her own business 15 years ago. My dad works as an engineer for a company and helps my mom run her business. We are a close and supportive family and I hope to become a part of your family as well. I think the Ukrainian language and food are the most important parts of Ukrainian culture. I am glad to share the beauty of the Ukrainian culture with my host family.I also would like to teach my host family some Ukrainian words and tell about our traditions. I can also cook traditional Ukrainian dishes. In this way, I can help my host family learn more about Ukraine and its culture. When I was 12 years old, I found out that I might have the opportunity to take part in an exchange program when I got a little older. From that moment, I became truly inspired by this idea and started working hard to improve my English. I put a lot of effort into learning the language because this opportunity meant a lot to me. When I started learning more about American culture it made me more determined to go to America and learn about your culture. I believe that I can have unforgettable memories with you and my new friends in America. I am excited to become a part of your family! Thank you for taking your time. Best regards! Alina
