Dear Host Family, My name is Cléo, and I want to thank you for taking the time to read my letter. Writing to a family I haven’t met yet feels a little strange, but also very exciting, because soon I might be sharing your daily life. I’d like to tell you who I am, what I love, and why this exchange means so much to me. I would describe myself as someone who is curious, open-minded, and always ready to discover new things. I love learning, exploring, and understanding the world around me. One of the biggest reasons I chose this High School program in the United States is because I want to live something real, not just visit a country, but become part of a family, experience your traditions, your routines, your celebrations, and your school life. I want to understand a culture from the inside, not from books or movies. In my home country, I have a close relationship with my family. We enjoy spending time together, but I am also quite independent. I help with small responsibilities at home, and I like taking time for myself to practice my hobbies. At school, I work seriously, but I also enjoy talking and laughing with my friends. I’m someone who likes to stay active and involved, and I’m excited to do the same in my future High School. One of my biggest passions is music, especially playing the harp. I have been playing for several years, and it is something that really matters to me. I also enjoy traveling, reading, and spending time with my family and my friends. I love trying new activities, discovering new places, and meeting peoples. I hope I’ll be able to share some of my interests with you, and also learn about yours. I am very interested in political science and geopolitics. I enjoy understanding how the world works, how countries interact, and what shapes international events. In the future, I would like to become a journalist or a diplomat, or work with an international organization such as the United Nations. I hope this experience in the United States will help me grow, gain new perspectives, and move closer to these goals. For this exchange, what matters to me the most is sharing real, simple moments with you. I would like to participate in your routines, your activities, and your family life.
