Maria Luiza
's Letter
Dear host family,
My name is Maria Luiza but you can call me just Maria. I live in a small town located in the south of Brazil, with my mother, my youngest sister, my dog and my cat. My father doesn't live with us but in a close city, which is where I spend most of my time because I study there. I have a very close and honest relationship with my parents and especially with my sister because I spend most of the time with her. We always try to have lot of fun together. My family’s rules are basically never lie and always help with household chores.
Now, speaking a little more about myself, I’m an extrovert and introvert person, I love to read but also I enjoy very much watching a movie. I adore running but I love playing volleyball, I think it’s partly because this sport has always been linked to my family [ my paternal grandmother and my parents always played volleyball in their youth. I love studying literature in my school, I listen music every day, I enjoy writing too but nothing too elaborate, I like very much hang out with my friends to parties, dinners or even to watch soccer and volleyball games and I love spend a lot of time with my family. I love animals too, I have one dog named George and one cat named Macarena and I love so much child and how they make me feel.
At the moment I’m on vacations but when my class return I’ll be going into my second year of high and during the week I go to school and stay until 12:20 pm and every Friday until 05:00 pm excluding the days that I have extras activities like lab classes. I used to train volleyball in Chapecó but I stopped because of my studies and today I play just for fun, I go to the gym and do pilates. On weekends I hang out with my friends an I spend time with my family. I don’t go to church very often but I would love to go. I am catholic.
So guys, this is a little more about me. I want to say thank you very much for hosting me. I can’t wait to live and enjoy this new phase with you. I have always dreamed for traveling abroad to study and thanks to my parents I’m having this wonderful opportunity to see more of the world out there and I’m very happy that you’re a part of this dream.
With love,
Maria Luiza Maffissoni Zucco
