Dear Host Family, My name is V. I am a sweet, sensitive and responsible person. I’m not afraid to express my thoughts, I can socialize easily, and I’m open to new and positive experiences. I am also a dedicated student and I’m not afraid of committing seriously to something. At the same time, I can be a bit shy, but only at the beginning before I grow attached, I give my whole heart! I have many hobbies, including drawing and coloring, baking desserts such as apple pies or colorful cupcakes (which I made last year for Valentine’s Day), reading, and ice skating especially during the Christmas season, since in my city there is a large ice rink that is free and open to everyone. I’ve also always been fascinated by golf and rock climbing, two sports we had the chance to try at school during physical education classes but which unfortunately I have never practiced. There are five people in my family. I have two older siblings: an older brother, who is the firstborn, and an older sister, the middle child. Both of them spent a year abroad (one in Kentucky and one in Michigan). I have a wonderful relationship with my brother even though he lives in Milan, when he comes home we always watch the latest episodes of MasterChef and Kitchen Nightmares together. We also cook dinner together (for example, the other day we made polenta with sausage). I also cook with my sister: every Christmas Eve we work together to prepare our big holiday dinner, and I got my passion for baking from her. Sometimes, after eating sushi together, we go to friends’ houses to play board games while eating homemade ice cream. I also have an amazing relationship with my parents (I’m everyone’s favorite!), I can tell them anything. After dinner, we usually all watch TV together, such as Criminal Minds or The Rookie, but also cooking shows like Bake Off, MasterChef, or Kitchen Nightmares. I feel especially close to my dad’s side of the family because we spend Christmas together, and in the summer we all go to our beach house in Abruzzo. I love being there, enjoying the sun, the sea, and the wonderful company of my cousins and our grandmothers, who are absolutely hilarious. My day usually starts at 7:00 a.m. After getting ready while listening to music, I drink coffee and walk to school with my friend E. After the usual five hours of school, I go back home and sometimes prepare lunch with E and M. Then I watch a bit of TV, and around 3:00 p.m. I usually start doing my homework. If I have time afterward, I go out with my friends; otherwise, I bake a dessert or read a book while enjoying a fruit tea. Around 8:00 p.m. I have dinner with my parents while watching the news, and afterward we watch TV together in the living room, although sometimes we also go to the cinema. My school is very colorful, with many murals created by us students, and it has a large garden all around it. The school has three floors and includes chemistry, physics, and microscopy labs. We have lockers and change classrooms every hour. In addition to the computer room and the library, we also have mobile computer labs. My favorite subjects are physics because it’s mathematics applied to real life and art history, because when I visit a city I love being able to recognize and be amazed by the beauty of the art it holds.
