Alice
's Letter
Hello Dear future Host family
My name is Alice, I am 15-year-old girl full of good will, with many goals for my future and very grateful for the luck of having the opportunity to come and live ten months in the United States by being welcomed by a voluntary American family.
I don't have a big family I live with my parents who are very close-together on a daily basis and my little sister who is two years younger than me and very different from me whether physically or mentally, so we complement each other very well even if we have many different opinions. Despite some disagreements we have moments of complicity and we love each other very much. Some events concerning her make me a more protective and attentive sister.
I am in a large high school with many students, classes start around 8 a.m. and end at 5 p.m. with a duration of about an hour of homework in the evening. I am a rather stable student in my grades despite some difficulties in science and math. I like going to school, I can see my friends and learn more interesting things than others. Modern languages interest me more than anything else since these subjects are a big topic for my professional project. I have wanted to become a flight attendant for several years, I do not want a job with a daily life and that is not exciting.
I am a daily smiling person always ready for everything and ready to discover and experiment with new things every day even if getting out of my area is a challenge for me every time I always come out with pride. I could be described as a very observant patient. I also babysit with three brothers and sisters from four to nine years old. My friends often define me as a calm person who soothes tensions and always optimistic who tries to see the positive according to the situation.
During my vacation I had the chance to be able to travel with my family and go to a summer camp which allowed me to meet many people who are now my friends with whom I always keep in touch despite the distance which for me means nothing when the person is really important because even if we see each other very little see never our friendship does not change.
I am passionate about horses and riding, if I could I would spend my days in their company. I have been practicing this sport for six years now and this year I joined a competition course. I know that this year will surely ask me to take a break from my sport and my passion and I have prepared for it there is no problem about it but I think it is important to talk to you about it.
In addition to being an unforgettable and unique experience, this year of exchange would be a huge positive point for my future years and personal projects. These ten months will allow me to gain maturity and surely see certain subjects differently than I see them today.
I have always made sure to bring good humor and joy around me, I do not want to be felt as a burden but a lightness not complicated because I like simple things and if there is one thing about me that is rather seen as a positive point on a daily basis is that I am not difficult.
I thank you in advance for welcoming me voluntarily I am extremely grateful for this chance.
See you soon !!
