Carmen
's Letter
Dear host family,
My name is Carmen, I come from Spain and I'm so excited about being given the opportunity to go abroad for a year and experience American culture and lifestyle. Im also super excites as its the first time I visit America!
I consider myself friendly, kind, respectful and independent, although I would really like to learn to be more self sufficient. I also think I'm funny and enjoy making people laugh, as well as meeting new people.
As a hobby, I do classical ballet at a conservatory, and take professional studies. I take my dance classes for around 20 hours weekly. This is one of the most important things in my life because it's what I've been doing for my whole life. In my free time i love listening to music, going out with friends or by myself and going out for walks. I also really love fashion and inspire myself through social media. The thing I love the most is thrifting clothes, I also got to know this through social media some years ago, and that helped me a lot to get to know the things I like. I also spend little of my time selling the things I don't want or like anymore on vinted, and that is a good way of getting some money, specially for me, that I can't do any job as im still a minor.
I do my best to help with the house chores, and I got to know how important it is to help at home as I spend my summers with my cousins on our village and we are 14 in total, and mostly all of the time we share the same space so I'm kind of accustomed.
I'm really looking forward to this year abroad and learn lots of things either about studies, culture, new ways of life, learning about how to depend more on myself and forming part of a new family, and of course, improving my English.
Best wishes,
Carmen.
