's Letter
Dear Host Family,
My name is Wojtek and I am a high school student from Poland. I want to take part in an exchange student program because I would like to experience real everyday life in another country, meet new people, and learn more about myself.
I live in a flat with my parents, Jagna and Robert. I am an only child and we do not have any pets. My parents work a lot and I also have many activities after school, so our days are usually busy. Even though we do not always have much free time, we try to spend some time together every day. This has taught me how to be independent and how to manage my time well.
I go to a private high school and I get good grades. I study in a class with extended biology, chemistry, and mathematics. I chose this profile because I would like to become a doctor in the future. I am interested in how the human body works and how science can help people. I do not have problems with studying and I can focus well during lessons. I also like helping others when I can. Right now, I am helping a younger student with chemistry, which has shown me how important patience and clear communication are.
I live a very active lifestyle and I have a lot of energy. Sport is a big part of my life, especially soccer. I have been playing soccer for about 12 years and it has taught me discipline, teamwork, and not giving up easily. I also go to the gym regularly. Being physically active helps me relax and feel better after a long day at school.
I really enjoy traveling and discovering new places. I like visiting different cities, walking around, and learning about their history and culture. I also enjoy going to museums, exhibitions, and cultural events, because they help me understand the world better. Spending time in nature is also important to me. I like hiking in the mountains and going on long walks, especially when I need to clear my head.
I am a person who likes new experiences and challenges. I am always open to trying new things, especially adventure activities. I enjoy scuba diving, canyoning, and kayaking, because they push me out of my comfort zone and give me a lot of positive energy. Experiences like these help me become more confident and teach me how to stay calm in difficult situations.
In my free time, I also like calmer activities such as reading books, playing chess, and listening to music. I am calm and quiet when I am in my room, and I respect other people’s space. I think I am easy to get along with, open-minded, and adaptable. I can take care of everyday things like cooking, cleaning, shopping, and organizing my day.
I decided to apply for an exchange program in the United States because of the stories I heard from my mother and cousin, who both took part in similar exchanges. They told me how much these experiences changed them and how many great memories they brought back. I want to improve my English, especially speaking, and become more confident using it every day. I am also very curious about American culture and lifestyle and would like to see what life there is really like, not only what we see in movies.
At the same time, I would be happy to share my own culture. I enjoy talking about Poland and showing others what makes my country special.
Thank you for taking the time to read my letter and consider my application. I am excited about this opportunity and ready to make the most of it.
Kind regards,
Wojtek
