's Letter

Dear Host Family, My name is Chloé, and I am very excited about the opportunity to become part of your family and to live this new adventure in the United States. Becoming an exchange student has been a dream of mine for a long time, and I am truly motivated to make the most of this experience. I would describe myself as a friendly, outgoing, and open-minded person who enjoys discovering new things and meeting new people. I am quite independent in my daily life, but I am also very attentive, caring, and respectful toward the people around me, especially my family and friends. In my free time, I enjoy many creative activities. Theatre is very important to me because it allows me to express me, improve my confidence, and work as part of a group. I also love dancing, and listening to music, which is part of my everyday life. Reading is another activity I really appreciate, especially in the evening before going to bed, because it helps me calm down and escape into different worlds. Traveling also fascinates me, as I love discovering new cultures, traditions, and ways of life, which is one of the main reasons why I want to live this experience abroad. Spending time with my family and friends means a lot to me, and I am very close to them. With my friends, we often go into the city center, walk around, go shopping, or sit in a café to talk and share good moments together. These moments are very important to me because they allow me to relax and feel supported. With my family, we have a special ritual every Friday and Saturday evening: we all sit down together in the living room with snacks, talk about our week, laugh, and simply enjoy spending time together. I also have a 12-year-old little brother, and we share many great moments. I like helping him, talking with him, and being present for him, which has helped me develop patience and a sense of responsibility. At school, I am a serious, motivated, and committed student. I understand the importance of education for my future, and I always try to do my best in my classes. I like working in a calm environment where I can stay focused, and I am able to work independently. I am curious and interested in many subjects, and I am excited to discover the American school system, participate in class, and become involved in school life. I have always dreamed of experiencing life in the United States, not only to improve my English but also to grow personally. I am especially excited to celebrate Halloween, because it’s my favorite holiday, and Thanksgiving, which does not exist in my home country, and seems very meaningful, as it brings families together. One of my main goals during this exchange year is to improve my English as much as possible, because I want to travel a lot in the future and maybe even live in an English-speaking country one day. I see this experience as a unique opportunity to become more independent, adaptable, and confident. I am very motivated, respectful, and grateful for this opportunity. I truly hope to share my culture with you, help in daily life when needed, learn about your traditions, and create unforgettable memories together. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my letter. Kind regards, Chloé.
