Dear host family, Thank you for accepting me into your home and family during the exchange program. This dream came to me when my aunt told me about her experience, and after that, I decided to start studying English to follow this dream. I have two siblings and married parents. I am the oldest brother, so I have more responsibilities at home than they do. We are very close and do many things together, like practicing sports, playing games, and organizing our home. Sometimes we travel to nearby cities to be closer to nature, but my favorite type of trip is when we go to the beach. I love the ocean and playing there with my brother. I love practicing sports. Going to the gym and playing handball are my favorites, but I also run and swim sometimes. For me, playing sports is a way to stay calm. Furthermore, sports have given me many good friends, and most of them are from my handball team. I can’t spend a week without exercising. Another thing I like a lot is art of all kinds, but my favorite one is photography. I have practiced it for a large part of my life, and it has greatly changed how I see the world. I usually photograph social events and nature, and I also like to draw sometimes, mainly architecture sketches. Another thing that I like a lot is my country. I listen to every type of music, but I love Brazilian music. I know many different styles and artistic movements, but my favorite is MPB. Besides, I love Brazilian food, and I don’t have any food restrictions, but I usually eat healthy food (meat and all types of vegetables). Despite living in a big city (about 900,000 inhabitants), I live near a forest and I love nature, so I go on trails and take walks. Another thing I like a lot is wildlife photography. These are things I really enjoy, and I love doing all of this in my free time. I have a long-lasting group of friends, and I love them a lot. I love my city because I have a lot of nature nearby, but also the convenience of a big city. I am able to learn new things and develop my hobbies and skills. I am Catholic and go to church two to four times a month. I have received my First Communion and Confirmation. I am a very sociable person, so I would like to make new friends and do activities together with them. Furthermore, I want to join a sports team because that is very important to me. In addition, I really enjoy humanities subjects, so I would like to take some extra classes. For my career, I will probably follow in my parents’ footsteps and manage a business in the future.
