Dear host family, My name is Axel. I am sixteen years old and I am French. This year I I am in year eleven at my high school. There are four people in my family, my parents and my sister. My father is forty-five years old and he is a nurse. He is a caring, adventurous and honest person. He loves sailing and windsurfing and always wants to discover new things. My mother is forty- four years old and she is a physiotherapist. She is an intelligent person, eager to learn new things and is really invested in everything she does. She loves sport. She practises yoga, swimming and hiking. My sister, who is fourteen years old, is a friendly and shy person. My sister's favourite activities are horseriding and volleyball. My family's favourite pastime is travelling and we travel several times a year. We are a very close-knit family. We spend a lot of time together. However, I am quite independent in my daily life. I am capable of taking care of myself. At school I have a lot of friends and we share wonderful moments together. For example, we like playing football matches together. Furthermore, most of my teachers are nice to me and help me make progress in their subjects. I am doing quite well at school but I spend a lot of time studying. What is more, I enjoy working with my friends to get a better understanding of the different concepts and that also helps me to be more efficient. I am an outgoing, friendly and helpful person. My favourite dish is risotto but I like practically every kind of food. I am athletic. I practise tennis and badminton and I love discovering new sports. My favourite subject is maths. I love logic but I also like languages ( English and Spanish), history and geography, which help me to better understand the world in which we live. As for higher education, I am still undecided, although I would like to work in a field related to sports. Next year I dream of going to the United States. I would love to discover this country, a new way of life as well as a new culture and to improve my English. My family and I spent a month visiting the United States, which made me really want to go back there and discover even more parts of the country. I believe I am the best candidate as I could introduce you to and share my culture. My friendliness, my desire to learn new things and understand your culture better are assets , which I hope, will allow me to integrate quickly. At school, I think I could bring a different perspective and share my culture by interacting with the other students. Thank you for reading my letter and for your hospitality.
