's Letter

Dear host family, My name is Lucie, and I live in Germany with my mum and my little dog Sam. I would like to tell you a bit about myself and why I am so excited to spend my exchange year in the United States. I would describe myself as a friendly, polite and open minded person. I enjoy meeting new people and experiencing new situations. Honesty and respect are very important to me, both in friendships and in everyday life. I really enjoy sports. I attend a school with a focus on sports, and in my free time I regularly go to the gym, sometimes with a friend. Doing sports helps me clear my mind and stay balanced. A few months ago I also got my motorcycle license, which is a hobby I share with one of my friends. We often meet after school or on weekends to ride together when the weather is good. It hat helped me to become more independent. At school I enjoy subjects as history. social studies, and languages. Mathematics can be challenging for me, but I am motivated to improve and willing to put in the effort. I know that school will be an important part in my exchange year, and I take my responsibilities seriously. I am not a big party person. I prefer spending time with my close friends, going to local events, watching movies, or simply hanging out. I also enjoy spending time at home. I do not drink alcohol or smoke. What I also really like is, going on holiday with my mum. I love seeing much of the world and going on trips together. Doesn't matter if me go hiking, visit cities in other countries or if we just chill at the beach, I enjoy all of it. Spending a year in the United States has been a dream of mine for a long time. I am exited to experience everyday life, school spirit, and how school and sports are connected. I am also looking forward to improving my English and learning more about American culture. I understand that living with a host family means becoming part of a new household with its own routines and rules. I am ready to respect these rules, help when needed, and take part in family life. My goal is to become a true part of your family and share everyday experiences together. If you have children, maybe even around my age, that would be great, but of course it's absolutely fine either way. A dog or any kind of other pets would be wonderful, but most importantly, I am looking forward to a warm and welcoming home. Thank you very much for taking the time to read my letter. I am really looking forward to getting to know you. Best wishes, Lucie
