Dear Host Family,
Thank you so much for participating in the exchange program and accepting me to live with your family.
I’m Nicole, a Spanish girl and I’m 15 years old. I like to try new experiences and I want to learn more about America, visiting new landscapes, new traditions… And also I can show you the traditions and food of Spain.
I speak three languages, my native language is Spanish, but I also speak Basque (a language of the north of Spain and the south of France) and English that I have been learning for 8 years.
I play the violin, I have been playing it for 7 years. A lot of my free time I’m reading, watching series or listening to music. Also I enjoy doing and watching sports, like basketball, soccer… And I want to watch sports typical of America like American football.
My mom works as a German teacher. My dad works as a primary teacher with children between 7-9 years old. My sister is two years older than me and she is 17 years old, and she wants to be a teacher too!
I think Spanish culture is very interesting and rich in food, music, crafts… For example, our traditions on Christmas. And I will be so happy sharing it with my host family.
I’m really interested in learning about different cultures and developing my English and I feel this program will be great for that. I believe that I’m a very responsible student and person. I think this attribute will help me to be successful in staying on top of school work, for helping with the house responsibilities and for fully integrating into the family.
I’m grateful for the community effort of my family, of yours as a host family and of the program to make this opportunity a reality.
I’m so excited to be part of my host family
Warm Regards,
Nicole
